Weddings & Engagements Section: Walker- Tesla
Take Me to the Moon 5.11
Adrianna Walker and Dennis Tesla were married at the Newcrest Cathedral at Oracle Point on Saturday. The bride is the daughter of Jana Walker and was escorted by her brother, Ace Walker. Dennis Tesla is the son of Gavin and Cacey Tesla of the Three Rivers area, formerly of Oasis Springs. In attendance at the wedding and reception were the groom’s family, including his two brothers Dashle and Darryl, and the family of his cousin, astronaut Delaney Tesla, as well as the youngest son of socialite Bella Goth, Desmond Goth. The wedding reception was catered by Dante Denson, owner of Roll with It, located at Magnolia Promenade. The couple will live on Newcrest Boulevard West, in midtown, since both work in the city. Ms. Walker has just been promoted to Corporal at P.P. Police Department after stunning police work that led to a high profile arrest, and Mr. Tesla is a Medical Assistant at Port Prominence Hospital. The couple has plans to honeymoon in Granite Falls, since Mr. Tesla is an avid fisherman.
Adrianna’s family and friends held a wedding shower for her at Cacey Tesla’s home in Three Rivers.
The house was overflowing with laughter, chatting, and occasional hooting at certain pieces of lingerie.
After a while, Dante Denson, the caterer came in, and made a beeline for the kitchen. Dennis considered entering the shower but decided to go fishing.
And only returned to the house after all the guests had left.
The wedding was held late on a Saturday afternoon, at Newcrest Cathedral at Oracle Point.
Both Adrianna and Dennis showed up to their wedding day feeling very confident. No cold feet here!
“Here we go, babe,” Adrianna said.
Realizing the somber nature of the vows they were about to make, they looked at each other for a moment before Adrianna began.
“I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride. Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know. Home is wherever you are. I love you not for what you are but what you are when I’m with you,” Adrianna said.
Dennis smiled. He sort of looked like he was daring her to hold to what she’d said.
Adrianna’s mother was on the verge of tears.
Before Dennis began his vows, Adrianna noticed her mom tearing up,and smiled at her.
Dennis got serious, and began his vows. “I hope to grow old with you, even though you won’t go fishing with me. I hope we share countless times of cheering for our favorite teams together; ranting about the refs together, and coming up with better plays than the coaches. I hope I will have the strength to be a person worthy of your love and respect as the years go by. I promise to bend my will to love you, no matter what.”
Adrianna felt speechless, for once.
When they first arrived at the reception, after the group photos, it was bedlam. Relatives and friends were everywhere, hugging, chatting, and beginning to dance. Adrianna sat down with her mom.
“You ok, mom? You look sad,” Adrianna said.
“Just a bit serious, I guess,” her mom said. “No, I’m not sad.”
Soon, Zoe came over to sit with Adrianna for a while. They laughed and watched people being silly on the dance floor.
Like Elise, who is normally so serious. “I hope my brother doesn’t think she acts like that all the time,” Adrianna said. “He’ll be in shock if he sees her normal grumpiness!”
Elise was really feeling generous, and she went over and gave her dad a bear hug.
Meanwhile, Gavin, Dennis’ dad, and Adrianna’s mom, were getting to know each other.
“It’s an emotional day, isn’t it?” she was commiserating with Gavin.
“It’ll be ok,” she comforted him.
Dennis found Adrianna in the crowd and asked for a dance.
Meanwhile, Cacey was scurrying to throw together a gourmet wedding cake, since once again, the hired caterer wasn’t doing his job.
Making the cake brought back memories of so long ago, when she was a teen at her sister’s wedding in Oakenstead, and her mom had to make the cake.
Rihanna and Elise were catching up.
“Hey, look at that doofus in the crazy vest,” Rihanna said.
“That’s my uncle,” Elise informed her. “But the vest is not fit for appearing in public.”
“The last time we talked this much was at your granddad’s funeral,” Rihanna said.
“Why don’t we ever hang out?! Every time we’re together we have a blast!”
“Maybe because you are unsufferable,” Elise noted. “Of course, other people have given me that same feedback as well, so maybe we are compatible.”
Cacey brought the cake out when it was finished.
The bride and groom waited and smiled for the photographer before taking the first slice.
And then fed the cake to each other.
Elise was also catching up on teasing her uncle, Desmond, who is, to her endless delight, several years younger than she. From the first time she had met him, she had considered it part of her family duty to make sure he could take a good pestering.
It was a beautiful, even magical, evening.
As some of the guests started to leave, Adrianna sat with Gavin and her mom a while. They had really hit it off, since they found they had a lot in common. As well as having children leaving the nest, both found that they were disgruntled with the current defensive coach for the Llamas and thought that the coach from the Bullfrogs needed to be recruited at any cost.
Jana was getting ready to leave, and Adrianna gave her a big hug.
“I”ll come see your new place soon,” she promised, but added with a little wink, “But not for a few days.”
“Oh mom,” Adrianna rolled her eyes. “So old fashioned!”
Ewan kept wanting to join Zoe on the dance floor, but hadn’t gotten up the nerve yet. Maybe the suit made him feel a little less free than he had at the pool party.
“Go on, bro,” said Eric. “You’re missing out!”
Ewan hesitantly stood up near the table and began to dance. Zoe stopped and watched him, but she didn’t come over right away.
Dennis and Adrianna had gotten a bit punchy with their dancing.
And Elise and Simone were giving Dante, the caterer, a hard time.
“My aunt had to leave the party and go make the cake,” she fussed. “We expect this from an average, no-good, caterer, but Aunt Cacey hired you specifically to keep this from happening?!”
But Dante just grinned, and danced, unfazed by her lashing. He got fussed at every day of the week, so this bit of a rant was completely irrelevant to him.
Dashle had decided to make a toast to his brother and new sister-in-law.
While he was thinking about what to say, Ace told Adrianna he was looking forward to getting into some more comfortable clothes soon.
Dashle began. “Well, I’m the oldest, and the most appropriate of the three of us, so it falls to me to do the honors of this toast,” he smiled. “Dennis, I never thought anyone would be willing to put up with the fish and worm grime under your nails, long enough to notice how charming you are.”
“But you deserve every bit of happiness you’ve got, and then some. Adrianna, how many guys have a sister-in-law who knows the rules of seven different sports better than they do?! I wish you guys the best. “
“Maybe you’ll convince Adrianna to fish, and live happily ever after,” he added, and quickly ran for cover before Adrianna could say something scathing.
Dennis took the mike. He decided the best defense is a good offense, and chose to ostensibly ignore the jab about Adrianna’s squeamishness around worms and fish. “Thanks, Dash, now I can finally get some sleep. You know, Oscar Wilde said “The typewriting machine, when played with expression, is no more annoying than the piano when played by a sister or near relation. “
“I couldn’t have better brothers than you guys; I’m gonna miss you. But I’ve found the love of my life, and just because it’s gonna be weird, doesn’t mean it isn’t gonna be good. “
“Adrianna, I know you won’t make me do it, so I’m safe; but if I had to choose between you and fishing, I’d give away my tackle tonight.”
Zoe and Ewan were almost the last guests to leave the reception. After Zoe helped Adrianna gather up the floral bouquets, she came back, and found Ewan dancing.
The wedding party was over.
Adrianna and Dennis took a taxi up Newcrest Boulevard to their flat. It was pretty empty, but it was theirs.
Outtakes & Gameplay Notes:
Adrianna’s dress was by Sims Addictions. It is called Sims 4 Sparkle Dress.
Elise’s dress was called Corset Dress Circle, by Bukovka
Zoe’s dress was the velvet dress in the Sweet Dresses Set, by Puresim.
Don’t know what was up with Dennis with this expression!
Adrianna’s vows by Pablo Neruda; Dennis’ by me.
I was planning to make this a really short post, with just the newspaper announcement, and one or two pictures, but Kiz1313’s chapel is SO beautiful, and as usual, it was so much fun seeing everyone behaving autonomously (Delaney’s family was not the active family). So it’s not short 🙂
I’m excited about Dennis and Adrianna’s flat, by itguyinsc (Credits on this page). I remodelled the interior, which he had beautifully outfitted as a single townhouse. Adrianna and Dennis enter by the fire exit on the park side (the back side of the building).
They have a kitchen and living on their entry floor (second floor)
Tiny kitchen (remodelled from a bath room when the building was broken up into apartments)
and their bedroom and bath on the top floor.
There are a lot of skyscrapers, and the park, from their windows in the back.
Since we don’t have apartments yet, in actuality, Dennis and Adrianna have the whole building, but they only use the two floors.
Ground Floor (empty)
Second Floor (Dennis & Adrianna’s living/kitchen
Third Floor (Adrianna & Dennis’ bed and bath)
