The Gang’s All Here
Take Me to the Moon 6.1
Fiona was throwing a birthday party for Ewan at her place in the city, and Ewan, Zoe, and Fearghus were going to leave for her house as soon as Fearghus came home from school.
But Fearghus’ arrival home was at least 45 minutes away, so…
Zoe and Ewan had some making up to do from the night before. Ewan’s little brother’s wife, Rachel, had flirted with him at the housewarming party, and made Zoe mad.
Zoe had given her a piece of her mind, so hopefully Rachel wouldn’t be making the same mistake in the future.
Zoe had talked with Triple G, Grandma Maddi, the next morning, about what to do to deal with the anger.
She described Rachel’s dress, and her flirting with Ewan, right in front of her, in her own kitchen!
Nothing a Rage-Fueled Run couldn’t fix.
And the make-up woohoo was spectacular
Two Hours Later …
Ewan, Zoe, and Fearghus were first to arrive at Yuki & Fiona’s place, and they chatted with Yuki while other guests arrived.
Ranen entertained everyone with mind tricks for a while
And then, Cassandra Goth, deceased, who was the official entertainment, arrived, but since there was no microphone, or musical instrument, she just periodically jumped out at guests to liven things up.
Adrianna was pretty close to her own elder birthday. She and Elizabeth appeared to be getting along well.
Elizabeth was still aggravated with her mom on occasion
Or wished she had friends her age at the party to hang out with
But deep down, she really liked her mom too
Alisa, the mail person, dropped by, and was pretty cheeky towards the birthday boy.
Alyse Weaver was caught taking selfies. With a critical eye, of course, given her artistic temperament.
The candles were lit, and everyone started to gather around to sing to Ewan.
In the midst of all the chattering and celebration, Ewan was pensive.
But he finally blew out the candles.
His first whims as an elder were to talk with Felicity, and Fiona.
Alyse, Zoe, and Elizabeth hung out in the kitchen, chatting. Zoe was still not her usual, cheery self.
And Elise barely spoke to anyone. Perhaps her disdain stemmed from the fact that no one else wore a costume?
Felicity, Ranen, and Desmond Goth (Cassandra and Alexander’s much younger brother), all had an odd spicy reaction to the food, even the fruit and yogurt.
Ewan and Alyse’s dad chatted
and Fearghus got aggravated with Alyse for some unknown reason
Whatever it was, Elsa tried to step in and settle it, but Fearghus wasn’t going to listen to her either.
Cassandra caught up with her littlest brother, while Zoe and Yuki got to know each other a bit.
“Are you happy with Fiona?” Zoe asked.
“I am so in love with her,” Yuki replied.
Ewan had a little time with his little brother, Eric, who was a little stressed out about his big brother getting older, or maybe embarrassed by his wife’s flirtation the night before?
And as the party wound down, Echo Weaver entertained everyone with stories that were hilarious.
Soon, she and Fiona had everyone in such a playful mood that death from becoming hysterical was a real risk.
Fearghus finally got over his bad mood and was exchanging funny stories with Echo Weaver, too.
By then, most of the guests had left, and Yuki and Fiona had retired to bed.
Fearghus helped his dad pick up dishes, and gave him a big hug
“you all made this the best birthday I could ever wish for,” Ewan said, as they ate another slice of cake.
But the party continued…
The next afternoon, the family was invited to hang out at the park. Fearghus invited Alyse but she said she had to run.
Ewan entertained Elsa, Desmond, Felicity and Zoe with stories
While Fearghus, and cousins, and cousins of cousins tried to figure out exactly how they were all related.
“So, Marisa, you’re not actually my cousin even though Ashlee is both of our cousins through Uncle Eric and Aunt Rachel.”
Marisa, Elizabeth, her dad Dennis, and Fearghus chatted while they ate. Which was fine, until Fearghus brought up the way Marisa’s mom flirted with his dad at the party.
What could Marisa say?
So they sat in awkward silence for a little while, before it was time to go home.
The next night, the family was invited out to Ghost Night by Aunt Elise.
When they got there, Elise seemed to be striking a shady deal with this lady, in a dark corner.
“Yellow Dress Townie in Hat turns out to be secret purveyor of biological weapons,” was the probable headline for the next edition of the Three Rivers Gazette.
Fearghus and Marisa found something less awkward to do
Until Fearghus caught view of his developing biceps in his peripheral vision and was compelled to record them for posterity.
“hmm, not bad,” he thought. “But needs a little more definition there.”
Luckily, Aunt Cacey and Uncle Gavin came out for Ghost Night too
Fearghus hung around longer than anyone else, just to meet his great aunt and uncle for the first time.
He chatted with his Great Aunt Cacey for a while. She was quite tense, though.
When Fearghus got home, his dad was enjoying the surf and the early morning out on the deck
Fearghus took some sleep replacement potion, and finished up his homework. After all, he had ambitions to become a doctor, and he knew he needed to work to achieve that dream.
- It’s kind of hard in camera mode, without all the thought bubbles visible to catch exactly what’s going on in a busy room, so I don’t know what Fearghus and Alyse and Elsa’s conversation was about, or why Eric was making the face he was!
