Take Me to the Moon 5.30
One night soon after Delaney died, Alexander came in and made use of his old computer, which Fiona had laid claim to. He hadn’t seen Delaney around the house, and had seen the tombstone, and wanted to check the blog to see how she had died. As he had done when he was younger, he hacked the world wide web, and navigated to the Simdale Valley Post. There, he read about how his daughter had gotten into an all-out brawl with Death.
He went upstairs, found Ewan, and asked him if what he read was a fabrication of artistic license. Alexander hoped it was all some kind of wild story twist. Ewan was embarrassed and upset, but he began to tell his dad what he had witnessed the night Delaney died twice.
“You know, Elise was determined to defeat Death, so she had spent a lot of time cultivating a Death Flower,” Ewan explained. “She brought it to Death, and presented it. He had to let mom go.”
“But then, Elise sat down at the table and began just piling insults on him. You could see in his face, he was appalled at the things she was saying. I thought he would strike us all dead. But he didn’t. In less than half an hour, mom had collapsed on the floor again. Mom told Elise to let her go. But after he took Mom’s essence in his palm, that’s when Elise got mad. She attacked him, and Ranen and I knew she was a goner. Ranen stayed, but I couldn’t watch. I left.”
“Elise is out of control, Dad. I don’t know what to do.”
Alexander went out to look at Delaney’s grave. What had he done wrong? Why was Elise so full of bitterness and hatred? He felt responsible; he had set a bad precedence by bringing back the ancestors by hacking the Gallery, and now she was taking things far beyond what he ever dreamed of doing.
Fiona was not happy with the way her mom was treating the rest of the family. She saw how her grandparents always cared for everyone, so how did her mom get so selfish? No one even felt like they knew Elise anymore; certainly no one felt safe talking to her. Remembering her grandparents, Fiona vowed to herself to follow their example, and choose a different path from her mom.
First, Fiona found her uncle Ewan, and worked on cheering him up. She wondered why her mom never seemed to appreciate Uncle Ewan. After all, he was so creative, and so sensitive.
Then she found her dad and kept him company while he tended the plants. Since Elise’s disappointment with the Death Flower, she was neglecting the plants, and many of them had lost their vibrant color.
She even tried to comfort her mom.
Delaney was content to leave the drama and angst of the household, and enjoy her rest. As she and Maddi had often done, she would relax in the kitchen at night, with a cup of tea.
One night when Elise was eating leftovers alone, she felt a presence in the kitchen.
She tried to ignore it.
But it reminded of her of times when she used to get in trouble for being mean to Ewan as a child. That disappointed parent vibe.
She felt like her dad and mom wouldn’t be pleased, if they knew about the path she was plotting. Elise had begun to make discrete inquiries into trafficking illegal substances. She had Death Flowers, tainted serums, and plans to grow and synthesize more mind-altering substances, as well as biological weapons.
Early the next morning, Ewan was sitting in the graveyard when Elise came in.
“I’m sorry about everything that happened, I was just trying to save mom. Can we be friends again?”
Ewan was guarded, but willing to give her a chance. Maybe she realized how much she had hurt everyone. But the look as she left, made it hard to trust her.
She had a few moments to kill before her first job, and decided to toy with the emotions of a passer-by.
It was so much fun seeing the look on his face.
Elise left the house at an odd hour that day; she was not headed the lab or the space center. No one knew that she had quit those jobs. Instead of pursuing knowledge, she was in pursuit of power, and ready to use her knowledge to get it.
Elise had broken the Tesla mold.
- Alexander is not a playable ghost, so I thought it seemed like he was up to his old antics again, using his old hacking computer. Then he checked in with Ewan and Elise, and was embarrassed as he stood at the graves. (If you aren’t a sims 4 player, yellow signifies embarrassment). Ewan autonomously began talking with him, but Elise didn’t, so I didn’t have her talk to him.
- After Delaney died, Elise was left with only one friend, Ranen (her husband).
- Elise needed to get to level 3 in a third job, and when considering which career to change to, her recent actions led me to the Criminal Career. I thought she looked a lot like her great-great uncle Barnaby in that last picture, but he was too sweet to get promoted in the Criminal Career. With traits of mean, self-assured, and gloomy, I think she’ll make a very effective criminal, although Gloomy is a bit of a liability because a playful mood is needed to perform at the highest levels in the Criminal Career. She gets quite playful with mischief actions, though, which she loves.
- When she met Ewan in the graveyard, she pick-pocketed him, which was a whim she had related to her new career.
Dennis and Adrianna’s little girl, Elizabeth, walked by the house. She’s so cute!
And here’s Echoweaver’s Simself’s daughter, Alyse, also a beautiful little redhead! I’m still waiting for Alyse and her mom to walk by so they can meet the family:
