Legit, Legal, & In Love
Take Me to the Moon 6.5
Narrated by Fiona Tesla
After years of dreaming and doubting, and months of planning, we stood at the front of the church to be wed.
Yuki looked so beautiful; she was glowing with carrying our baby, and I think that helped her overcome her strong dislike of large crowds.
In fact, we’d limited the ceremony to my parents and aunt Zoe, just to help Yuki feel more comfortable.
“Are you ready?” I asked quietly, and she nodded.
I promised to love and respect her through the rest of my life. I couldn’t imagine what could happen to make me want to forget that promise, it seemed like the easiest promise in the world. But no matter how hard things get, I mean it, I do promise to love and respect her, cherish her.
Yuki said her vows and then gave me a big hug.
Then it was time for the reception. I checked, and our family friend CT was there to play the piano, and the bartender, Tony Stark, had arrived.
But the caterer was no where to be found, so I quickly mixed up a cake myself
Yuki felt a little stressed by all the hub-ub over the cutting of the cake
My uncle Eric and his daughter, my cousin Ashlee, made a big deal out of it
“Light or heavy frosting?” I asked playfully, to help calm Yuki’s nerves.
Then we retreated to the sanctuary with Felicity, who doesn’t like crowds either, to eat our cake in peace.
Felicity asked, “What’s it like, to be married?”
But before I could answer, we noticed the bartender had come in, and was flirting with her across the room.
I asked her if she knew him and she laughed, and said she didn’t think so.
I went out after a while, to spend some time with our guests, who were enjoying the dance floor and DJ.
After a while, I noticed Fearghus hanging back instead of joining in so I went to check on him.
He said weddings make him sad because it just highlights how alone he is. He asked why we didn’t invite Alyse, and his other friends. I told him how stressed Yuki was, and that we only invited people Yuki felt she knew well.
Felicity called to him to join her, and he made his way over there.
By then, everyone else was going to the buffets for food, so I asked Fearghus if he wanted to dance and finally got him to agree to a dance-off
I knew appealing to his competitive nature would be the trick
But he ended up laughing so hard he could barely dance.
and finally, forgetting about his bad mood.
Before we joined the others, I got a quick picture, proof that Fearghus can have a good time at a wedding
Yuki was telling Uncle Ewan he was soon to be a Great Uncle, as if he couldn’t tell or thought she decided the height of bridal fashion was a soccer ball under your dress… plus, dad is beaming and telling anyone who will listen that he’ll soon be a granddad.
But Uncle Ewan acted surprised anyway
Dad asked how Yuki was feeling, and if we’d had our second ultrasound, and if the doctors were being conscientious. After all, this is a revolutionary pregnancy, and I think he might be having second thoughts about helping us and the doctors with the methodology.
I realized, he can’t bear the thought of something going wrong, and feels responsible.
“It’ll be ok, dad,” I said. “No matter what, I’m glad you helped us.”
It was time for family pictures.
Here’s Yuki with her new in-laws
Yuki and I with my parents, Aunt Zoe, and Felicity
And Aunt Zoe finally got Uncle Ewan in one of the pictures.
And one last one of Yuki and I
- I was very disappointed to learn that I could not have Zoe arrange for their wedding, from the main house, so I was limited to inviting the sims that Fiona and Yuki know well. Yuki does have the Loner trait, so she had some stressful moments with the crowds.
- We really need classical and slow dancing for weddings, and larger group photos or at least be able to use bb.moveobjects on sims!!!
- The beautiful medieval church, reminiscent of a monastery, was built by Ruthless KK and you can see a tour of it, on her blog. It is available for download on the Gallery too.
- You probably noticed I used the pictures of Fearghus dancing with Fiona out of order, I had those pictures of them dancing earlier and wanted to show Fearghus after Fiona cheered him up, but after he cheered up, he left, and I was busy trying to get the family portraits done.
