Grand Opening: Kyra’s Bakery

Simdale Valley (Old Town)

August 1, 605

I haven’t been able to get a full update ready for today, but here’s what I’ve been up to… re-creating Kyra’s Bakery.

Kyra’s Bakery was originally built from nothing by Kyra Michelle, celebrity chef.  It sat right across from the Town Square and just down the street from the Town Hall.  A generation later, it was bought and re-opened by Miguel and Moira Jones.

Miguel and Moira have come over from Sims 2, and re-opened Kyra’s, this time in Old Town (the traditional part of Windenburg), still on the town square.

The kitchen is in the building next door.  I might add an apartment over the bakery and move them there, with just an empty lot as their base home.

It still needs work to make it look more like I’d like, but it is functional

Kyra’s Bakery is available on the Gallery.  It says that it was built by Grekll but it is my original work.  I bulldozed a fantastic library cafe she had built, that I was having stand in for Kyra’s until I could build it.  When I built this, from an empty lot, it still held her name as the creator.

Kyra’s bakery looks great! I would definitely spend time there eating and drinking, and now I’m spending time looking to see if anyone has converted that tea rack on the counter! <3 I really like the layout, with the bathrooms being easily accessible, but out of the way. The color scheme is really soothing as well, definitely beckons one to come and relax, and eat fine confectionery treats. The outdoor area is equally as welcoming and inviting too, I really like the trees and wooden signs, all very sweet.

It looks amazing, Shannon! I’m a huge sucker for exposed brick, so I obviously love that but I also love the flowers and vines climbing the walls outside and the eclectic furnishings in the lounge area. It really looks like a place that might exist in real life. 🙂 So wonderful.

    • I could not resist the exposed brick, especially for a bakery! My husband’s team mate from high school went on to open a breakfast and coffee place, they had the most amazing french toast, and they had the greatest mix of eclectic old furniture in their coffee shop. I’m glad you liked the new Kyra’s, and thanks for commenting.
